Overlooking Accra

These are a few scenes from around Accra, near our office. TAMTAM is kindly and coincidentally being hosted by none other than John Snow, Inc – the organization and namesake mentioned in my first post. The photos overlooking the city are from this crazy, giant, extremely overstaffed store called Kingdom Books. It is one of few buildings taller than two stories.  This five-story warehouse sells an assortment of office supplies and furniture for both office and home, but no books.  You can click on the photos to see a larger version.

The first two photos depict a few blocks of buildings and the ocean beyond them. It’s interesting to me that the coastline here is not much developed and is sometimes even used as a dumping ground.  I expected it to be more developed and have a tourist element, as Kenya did.
